Vegan “Meat” Balls

Makes 25

1 Bag of “Beef” Plant Protein (Morning Star, Beyond Meat or Gardein)

1/4 Cup of Chia Seed

1/4 Cup of Grated Carrots

1/4 Cup of Chopped Onions

Bean Sprouts

1 Large Tomato

Shredded Vegan “Mozzarella”

Montreal Steak Seasoning

Salt, Pepper & Garlic Powder

Before starting the “beef” in a measuring cup pour 1/4 cup of chia seeds & two parts water. This soaked chia seed substitutes for the eggs. Let the chia swell up until a pudding-like consistency forms. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a sauce pan, pour one bag of “beef” plant protein. Cook for 6 minutes while adding desired taste of Montreal Steak Seasoning, Salt Pepper & Garlic Powder. The “beef” plant protein usually has a high salt content unless you are using Morning star.

After 6 minutes turn heat off & proceed to add the grated carrots and chopped onions. Cut the large tomato into small-medium cubes and cook last in the pan. Place contents in a large bowl & cool.

When cooled add the chia seed mixture to the “meat” & fold. This is when you should add your vegan mozzarella cheese. After this your oven should be done preheating. On a baking sheet roll medium sized balls to shape the perfect “meat” ball (Sometimes the mixture doesn’t like to stick together – the way to getting it keep it’s form is by placing a little bit of pressure to squeeze the contents together).

Stick pan in oven for 10 minutes – check every 5 minutes.

Enjoy!
